Summary: Mustang wants to buy a little something for the new house, but Ed refuses to indulge him
"No," said Edward firmly. "We're not getting them."
"C'mon Ed," moaned Mustang. "They'd be perfect for the fancy dinning room."
"The fancy dinning room you just had to have," muttered the younger man darkly.
The recently married couple was shopping for things for their new house; Furniture, kitchen ware, garden tools…and doilies.
"Please?" asked Mustang, using an uncommonly heard begging tone. "We've gotten you tons of things for your little experiments. Beakers, and-"
"May I remind you that my 'little experiments' are for your military, Mr. Fuhrer," Edward remarked scathingly. "And you're just pining after them to irritate me."
"No," he insisted. "I really do want them. They can be used for more than decoration, you know," He leaned in close. "We can use them for other things."
An elderly woman who had been scoping out a shelf behind them, spun around, a look of shock and horror on her face.
"Well I never…" She scurried down the aisle, hand basket rattling from cans of broth and prune juice. Edward shot his husband a dirty look despite the blush dusting his cheeks.
"I think it's best that you refrain from making sexual innuendos in public, in fact," he added. "Just don't talk at all, in public or private."
Mustang pouted. "You're no fun."
Edward just rolled his eyes and walked off.
"Come on, lacy lover!" he cried over his shoulder. "Get that cute butt in gear!"
"Sir, yes, sir!" Mustang snapped into a mock salute. Chuckling to himself, he started after Ed, but not before slipping one doily in his pocket.
